Terms of Service

Undertaking work with Dewar Computer Services is considered agreement to these terms. They may change without any notification.

GST

Dewar Computer Services Ltd is registered for GST, and all prices quoted will include GST unless stated otherwise. A GST invoice will be provided with goods and services sold.

PRICING

All services, unless otherwise stated, are charged at a rate of $70 per hour including GST. The minimum charge is one hour, after which work will be charged per 0.1 hour block. Transport to your property is included in the time taken, however the return trip is not charged. For example, if it took 12 minutes to drive to your property for a one-hour job, 1.2 hours ($84) would be charged for time. Transport distance is charged at a rate of $0.50 per kilometre, including GST, in both directions. This rate may change without notice to reflect fuel prices. You are able to choose the parts you prefer, and may supply your own if desired. Parts required will not be ordered without approval unless you advise otherwise. All time spent at your premises will be billed at the standard rate. A public holiday surcharge of 50% may apply on all statutory holidays, Sundays, and urgent callouts after 8pm.

WARRANTY

All work undertaken by Dewar Computer Services is guaranteed for a period of 30 days unless otherwise agreed. This guarantee does not extend to unrelated problems, the recurrence of a virus or other malware, or labour associated with the failure of a component.

New goods sold are usually warranted for one year, and used goods sold are usually warranted for 30 days from the invoice date. You must retain the tax invoice provided to be able to make any warranty claim, so please keep it in a safe place.

ACCEPTED WORK

Dewar Computer Services reserves the right to not accept any requested job on any grounds. While appointments can usually be arranged within 1-3 days of booking, at excessively busy times I may offer you an appointment at a later date, or refer you to another repair business.

PAYMENT

Payment is required upon completion of a job, and on or prior to collection of an item purchased. I can only release your computer after receiving payment in full for the work done, unless a different arrangement is made before work commences. If work has been done onsite and you cannot pay immediately, you may be held liable for collection costs if payment is not settled within two weeks. You can pay either by cash, cheque or bank deposit, so as long as you have a means of payment handy there should be no problems.

Regular customers may be offered the choice to pay on 7-day credit terms, however this is at the sole discretion of the company.
